Juanit is a passionate and seasoned practitioner who aims for high-quality and pain-free living for her patients. After graduating from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy, she went on to earn recognition from the 2014 and 2015 Hamilton Reader’s Choice Awards as one of the city’s top physiotherapists.

Certified in Acupuncture and Active Release Therapy of the spine, Juanit is also pursuing the Advanced Certificate of Manual and Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT) and developing advanced assessment and treatment skills through the Diane Lee & LJ Lee Integrated Systems Model. In addition to her background treating workplace injuries and motor vehicle accident patients, she has extensive experience working with special populations, which include athletes, seniors, individuals coping with vestibular disorders (vertigo, dizziness and concussions) and patients recovering from strokes, rotator cuff repair, mastectomy/lumpectomy or spinal decompression surgeries.

How does Juanit summarize her treatment philosophy? Regular exercise and a precise plan are crucial in the recovery and prevention of injuries. Aside from enjoying an active lifestyle herself, Juanit likes to spend her spare time mentoring students, meeting new people and globe-trotting to destinations like New Zealand, Spain, Tanzania, Argentina and Brazil.

Amar’s mission is to promote and restore maximal health in each individual client. He is a graduate of McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, focusing on biomechanics, functional anatomy and exercise physiology. Amar continued his education at McMaster, completing his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy. He is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and is dedicated to lifelong learning, having completed post-graduate courses in acupuncture and soft tissue release. He is currently completing his Fellowship with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physical Therapists. Amar has experience working in a variety of clinical settings, ranging from acute physiotherapy care in a hospital to long-term rehabilitation in a private clinic.

Whether working with patients with sports injuries, acute or chronic injuries, post fractures, stroke rehabilitation or other situations, Amar focuses his treatment approach on empowering and educating his clients to take control of their own health, advocating for patients when necessary. He uses a combination of manual therapy, exercise prescription and education to assist patients in understanding and overcoming their injuries.

Amar loves spending his weekends snowboarding in the winter, wake surfing in the summer and off-roading in his Jeep all year round. He is an avid reader, a technophile and enjoys the art of photography.

Registered Massage Therapist / Certified personal trainer / Sports nutrition specialist

Fluent in English and Italian

Antonio is a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. He graduated from Mohawk College with a diploma in Health, Wellness and Fitness and went on to earn a diploma in Massage Therapy at the Ontario College of Health Technology. He also has several years’ experience as a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach.

Antonio brings his diverse skill set to his practice as a massage therapist. His approach involves developing a practical treatment plan through careful evaluation, assessment and palpation. Expect to be given homework after each treatment, as arming clients with the proper knowledge and tools to sustain results is his top priority.

Antonio’s outlook on wellness begins with setting a road map early on, so every treatment brings you one step closer to your health goals. He encourages clients to stay motivated by focusing on the bigger picture and recognizing that life is not a sprint, but a marathon.

In his free time, Antonio enjoys keeping up with his own fitness goals at the gym, playing soccer and spending time with his family. He is passionate about helping others live full and healthy lives and firmly believes that if you enjoy your job, then you never have to work a single day in your life.

 

bonnieBonnie Bojovic


Certified Yoga Teacher, PhD Molecular Biology

Fluent in English and Serbian

Inhale. Exhale. And meet Bonnie – a dedicated yogi and long-time athlete with a strong personal Ashtanga and Vinyasayoga practice. Bonnie’s goal is to promote healthy aging and help people move better through practicing yoga. She instructs both group and one-on-one Hatha-Vinyasa yoga classes where she teaches breathing exercises, leads guided meditation and focuses on correct posture alignment to ensure a safe and beneficial practice.

Bonnie has completed the 200-hour De La SolHatha-Vinyasa Yoga Teacher training course and continues to deepen her knowledge through online training and workshops. Aside from yoga, her other passion is science. Bonnie holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Belgrade in Serbia and she has over 20 years of experience in cancer research where she examined the role that human microbiota and inflammation play in health and disease.

Bonnie’s strongly believes in the link between exercise and your physical and mental health. With her motto “Supple body, open mind”, it comes as no surprise that Bonnie loves being active and outdoors all year round. Rain or shine, you can find her hiking with her dog in Dundas Valley Conservation Area. During the winter, she enjoys downhill skiing and during the summer she loves swimming in Georgian Bay – or saltier water when possible!

Naturopathic Doctor

Brian’s goal is to optimize patient care through a balanced delivery of both naturopathic and conventional medicine. After graduating from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Science, Brian went on to complete his graduate studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine to become a fully licensed Naturopathic Doctor. He is member of both the Ontario and Canadian Associations of Naturopathic Doctors.

With an approach rooted in research and evidence-based medicine, Brian’s diligently strives to meet the highest standards in patient care. He has practiced alongside medical doctors, chiropractors and physiotherapists and has also worked for the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and Etobicoke’s Adapted & Integrated Services where he managed programs for children with special needs.

Brian stays up-to-date with emerging research and is quickly becoming a sought-after resource in the local community. He has given lectures on topics such as cardiovascular, gastrointestinal and geriatric issues as well as preventative health care strategies that lead to a longer and higher quality life.
